💡 THE GEOLOGIC ORIGINS OF VIRGINIA’S EASTERN SHORE (VIMS Monthly Public Seminar Series)

April 1 @ 7:00 pm

Dr. Christopher Hein will discuss the geologic origins of Virginia’s Eastern Shore, exploring how ancient rivers, shifting barrier islands, and dramatic changes in sea level shaped the landscape over thousands of years. He will share how processes such as distant ice sheet cycles, coastal migration, and sediment movement formed the land that exists today, including the area where the VIMS Eastern Shore
Laboratory now sits, and what this history may reveal about the Shore’s future.
