KIPTOPEKE STATE PARK – Taylor Pond to Hawk Watch
FIELD TRIP HIGHLIGHTS: Lower Northampton County is among the top locations along the eastern seaboard of the US for Fall Migration. Join Roberta Kellam for a walk through the trails of Kiptopeke State Park to search for migrating songbirds. We will end at the Hawk Watch and join the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory hawk watcher to enjoy various migratory raptor species as they fly south.
The walk is about 1.5 miles on an even, unpaved path.
WHEN: Sunday, October 4th , 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM
LOCATION: Kiptopeke State Park, West off Highway 13, between Cape Charles and the Bay Bridge-Tunnel toll plaza. Meet at the Taylor Pond parking lot behind the Big Water Visitor Center, 4078 Kiptopeke Dr. Townsend, VA 23443. (Parking fee of $7 per vehicle required to enter the Park).

The Program is free, and the public is invited to attend. Always be prepared for ticks, the sun, mosquitos, and the weather.
Loaner binoculars will be available for those who need them.
